Expressions in After Effects: The very, very, very basics

Connecting layer properties with expressions

In these videos i explain the basics of expressions in After Effects. Expressions are a form of code, written in JavaScript, that can be applied to specific properties of layers. You can link the properties of one layer to another using expressions, creating a relationship where changes in one layer affect the other. A null control layer can influence multiple layers simultaneously by copying property links. Expressions can simplify animation by reducing the need for repetitive keyframing.
